About Our Church

Old Salem Baptist Church was established in its current location in 1855 as Mt. Pleasant. In over a century and a half that has followed, the church has had a new name, multiple building revisions and additions, updates to the grounds, and many members. The church is a testament to God's faithfulness and how He will use anyone who is willing.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help grow the body of Christ by

Showing God’s Love, Sharing God’s Message, Seeking God’s Direction, Sharpening God’s People, and Savoring God’s Goodness.

Mission Basis

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Mark 16:15 – And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

Romans 12:2 – And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

2 Tim 2:2 – The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

James 1:17 – Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.
